SA Dagger [Early Version] by C. Lütters & Cie. (Löwenwerk) Solingen

This SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger in Near Mint condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37.4 cm. Early Nickel fittings, lower guard with «Ns» stamp. The Dagger has the very rare (5 of 5) maker mark on the blade: C. Lütters & Cie. (Löwenwerk) Solingen.

Grip: The grip is dark brown and of High Contour construction. It nicely fits the guards. The SA runes button is nicely set and retains perfect enamel. The nickel grip eagle is the “High Necked” style. This fine looking bird retains full detailing throughout the head, breast and wing feathering, talons and wreathed mobile swastika. The lower reverse guard is Gruppe marked, «Ns» Lower Saxony.

Blade: The blade is mirror-bright and mint, will all of the crossgrain and a needle-like tip. The SA motto crisp and dark, with 100% of the factory blacking. The reverse ricasso is marked with the very desirable Resting Lion trademark of the C. Lütters firm. This trademark is very finely detailed and looks fantastic. Below the cat is the word “Löwenwerk”, or “Lionworks” in German. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour. This logo is not seen very often, rating a 5 of 5. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the contours of the lower guard.

Scabbard: The scabbard shell is also very fine. It is completely dent free and has 100% of the original coppery “anodized” finish. There is also a lot of lacquer on this scabbard, probably around 60% intact. The scabbard mounts are in perfect condition through to the lower ball. They are retained by four original, unturned screws.
