RLB Enlisted Man's Dagger, 2nd Model (M1938) - Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie. (WKC), Solingen

The nickel pommel and crossguard retain their original faciory luster to the plating. The crossguard is also a real beauty, having fine, bright nickel surfaces throughout the stubby winged eagle, and the crossguard quillons. This eagle faces to the viewer's right, and holds a plain wreath, containing a raised swastika, and pebbling in the backgrounds. The grip is a choice piece of ebony, having a bulbous center, tapering on both ends. The applied grip button has the sunburst in the background, and all of the silvering still appears to be there. The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has original factory paint, which is still as bright as the day it was done. Attached to the right upper side of the scabbard is the triangular wire clip which retains the original short hanger. This short hanger has a nickel tab, which is pressed over the leather and riveted. The leather is still supple and in excellent condition. The snap clip is marked on the reverse, "A" and "DRGM". The plating to the snap clip and the hanger tab are bright, exactly matching that of the crossguard. The blade on this example is no disappointment. This blade has all of its crossgraining and remarkable bright finish. This blade is in near mint condition. The trademark side of the blade is on the obverse, as is a norm on WKC produced weapons. The trademark features a knighthead over the initials of the firm, "WKC". Beneath the firm's initials is the word "WAFFENFABRIK/SOLINGEN". The original black leather blade washer is in place.
