SA Dagger [Early Version] - H. Herder, Solingen
Early Blonde SA Dagger by H. Herder. The bright blade on this one looks beautiful! The crossgrain is absolutely stunning in the light and runs the full length of the blade. The dark and crisp, acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and H. Herder, Solingen maker mark are both beautifully executed and make for a wonderful contrast to the bright blade. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. This blade rates an Exc+. It shows the common surface scratches but that’s it. The brown anodized scabbard body looks great. The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards remain nice and bright. They match in color, age and patina. The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked B (Berlin). The special blonde grained hardwood grip is beautiful, but with one split. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit. How often do you come by a Blonde gripped example.
